Harpoon Introduces City Roots Craft Cider

From Harpoon:

We’re saying goodbye to Harpoon Craft Cider and hello to City Roots!
Our mantra may be “Love Beer. Love Life.” but cider has always had a special place in our hearts. While we’ve loved making (and drinking) Harpoon Craft Cider for the past 12 years, we always felt like we could do more for – and with – the cider we enjoyed so much. That was until last winter when a group of apple-loving employee-owners got together and suggested we do just that. From that meeting, City Roots Cider was born.
Over the past month, we’ve been gradually phasing out Harpoon Cider to make room for City Roots, an entirely new brand of fresh craft cider. For City Roots, we made some slight improvements to our base cider recipes but are sticking to the same main tenets: always using fresh-pressed apples and never any preservatives or sweeteners. While we’re starting out with some familiar concepts (Original Dry, Rosé, and Pumpkin), we’ll be introducing a wide range of new, innovative styles to the City Roots portfolio – so if you enjoyed Harpoon Craft Cider, we think you’ll enjoy City Roots just as much, and we hope you’ll enjoy what the future holds as well. Like Harpoon Cider, City Roots ciders will be characteristically bright, naturally gluten free, and refreshingly crisp with just a light hint of sweetness.
In addition, we have partnered with 1% for the Planet to donate 1% of City Roots sales to causes supporting greener and healthier cities. As an urban-made craft cider, supporting the cities where we live and work is an important part of what we do.
Can’t wait to try City Roots? Come join us tomorrow night (7/31, 6:00-9:00pm) for our downtown launch party at Beantown Pub in Boston, where we’ll be hanging all night and sampling our Original Dry, Rosé, and Pumpkin ciders. Can’t make it to Beantown? Keep an eye out for 4-packs, 12-packs, and draft popping up at your local bar or store OR swing by the Harpoon Beer Hall for a fresh glass straight from the source.
