Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Portland Cider Pineapple Rosé
I love sampling new cider…partially because they’re almost always really good, and partially because I’m learning more and more about what makes a cider really good.  I’m also excited to see the cider-makers pushing the boundaries of the traditional apple cider and coming up with some really good fruit combinations.

Today’s cider checks a lot of boxes and I think you’ll find  that it is an interesting combination and a really good cider.  Coming to us from Portland Cider, today we’ll be trying out their new Pineapple Rosé.  This new summer seasonal cider is loaded with pineapple as well as a sneaky little splash of blueberry; and if you’re like me, you can’t wait to try it….so off we go.

Portland Cider Pineapple Rosé pours a crystal clear and really pretty pink color that made me like it before I even sampled it.  The aromas of fresh apples and juicy pineapple lead the way and overall aroma is a really enticing combination.  The pineapple flavors really push the boundaries of a traditional apple cider (in a good way) and the blueberry addition rounds it all out nicely.  The “rosé” part of the naming leans this cider into the wine world a bit, but it tastes and feels much lighter-bodied than a Rosé wine.  Overall the freshness and drinkability of the pineapple flavors make this a really good choice for a summer seasonal.  Pineapple Rosé has a light and soft mouthfeel and a really satisfying combination of fruit flavors that I know you’ll love.

Portland Cider Pineapple Rosé  is available now in 12oz cans and I’m excited to report that this cider will be available in the first 19.2oz cans coming from Portland Cider in April and lasting through summer.  Pineapple Rosé hits a really sessionable 5.2%-AbV so be sure to try it for yourself.  And when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.

  1. Too bad this cider isn’t available to the folks of New York. I’d love to try their ciders.
