Saint Arnold Releasing Limited Edition Das Brut Magnum Bottles

Saint Arnold Releasing Limited Edition Das Brut Magnum BottlesFrom Saint Arnold:

A couple of Friday afternoons ago, a group of brewers (and other curious members of our Brew Crew) were gathered around in our cellar watching bottles being filled. Why the spectacle? These weren't our standard 12 oz bottles. These were 1.5 L Magnum bottles being hand filled, corked, caged, and individually numbered.

Starting at 11:00 AM on New Year's Eve, you'll be able to enjoy what's inside these bottles: a limited edition version of Das Brut, our new Brut IPA. There are exactly 100 of these bottles - first come, first served at our Beer Garden & Restaurant.

For $89, you'll be served a 1.5 L Magnum bottle of Das Brut, two of our Revival glasses, and a hand numbered commemorative tag. These bottles must be enjoyed on-premise (per state law, we cannot sell them to go), and the bottle itself will not be available for you to take home (sorry, we want to refill them with other special beers).

As for the beer, Das Brut is our Brut IPA. Its aroma is bursting with cantaloupe, honeydew, and spice, with a lower level of tropical fruit, citrus, and pine that provides a nice balance. It is surprisingly light, balanced by a low bitterness and light body that provides a very clean finish. It weighs in at 6.6% ABV and 28 IBU.

While we have Das Brut on tap here as a Beer Garden Brew, the primary difference between the draft version and these limited edition bottles is how they're carbonated. Before bottling, the beer was centrifuged to get the original yeast out and dosed with a small amount of sugar and champagne yeast. The bottles then went through a secondary fermentation, creating a higher carbonation level which adds increased texture and aromatics in the final beer - making it the perfect way to say:

Happy New Year!
