MOON WATER TROPICAL IPA
Appearance:
Moon Water fills the glass as a soft orange-colored brew wearing two fingers of fluffy, bright white foam. Held to direct light, things change dramatically as the beer gains vibrancy and exposes a sunny golden yellow residing within. The body has a deep haze to it, blocking any view through the glass. Head retention is fantastic, dissipating only slightly and lining the glass with lace.
Aroma:
Tropical hop notes burst from the glass with guava leading the way. Ripe pineapple then takes control as things move in more of a dank hop direction. A little lemon zest turns up just before the profile closes with some crackery malt sweetness.
Taste:
Guava and passionfruit are right there to greet you on the first sip. Next, pineapple plays at the tastebuds as a slight hint of grapefruit and lemon pith slip in towards the end. The malts do their job well in their supporting role, allowing the hops to take center stage. One thing is clear here: Moon Water is all about those fruity, juicy hops.
Mouthfeel:
This beer is leaning toward the lighter side of medium in body with a medium carbonation level. The finish is drying and sets up a plea for that next sip. The taste of pineapple, citrus, and resin linger for just a moment - an ode to the warmer weather just around the corner.
