Dogfish Head Adding Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo Marron 6/16

Dogfish Head Adding Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo Marron 6/16From Dogfish Head:

Calling all Palo Santo Marron fans! We took our unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale up a notch for our latest 750ml bottle release with the creation of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo Marron! Clocking in at 13.3% ABV, this roasty, sweet ale has spent the last eight months aging and developing its rich, full-bodied flavors on wood and is finally ready to see the light on Saturday, June 16 beginning at 11 a.m. at our Milton brewery!

Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo Marron is a brown ale brewed with dark malts and brown sugar then aged on two kinds of wood – Palo Santo and bourbon barrels. First, it spends a month aging in a 10,000 gallon Palo Santo tank made from ‘holy wood’ which contributes layers of caramel and sandalwood flavors to the beer. Then, it spends seven more months in bourbon barrels allowing for smooth notes of oaky-vanilla and coconut to come forward. While we originally released the beautiful brew on draft back in April, we also held some on reserve and aged it for an additional three months in bourbon barrels just for this special, limited release!

With only 400 bottles available, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Palo Santo is priced at $18 per 750ml bottle and will also be available on draft ... until it's not!
