From Maui Brewing:
Kihei, Hawaii (May 10, 2018) - Maui Brewing Company earned a Gold Award at the most prestigious beer competition in the world, the World Beer Cup®. Developed by the Brewers Association("BA"), the World Beer Cup® was created in 1996 as a global bi-annual competition celebrating the art and science of brewing.
This year, 8,234 beers from 66 countries were entered for evaluation across 101 categories. The 2018 competition winners were selected by an international panel of 295 expert judges. Winners were announced May 3rd at the awards ceremony held at the Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America at Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. According to the BA, the criteria for a Gold Award is that the beer accurately exemplifies the specified style, displaying the proper balance of taste, aroma and appearance.
"Sharing the stage with some epic brewers, old and new, is always an honor. I'm beyond excited to again be on the stage with some of my team at the World Beer Cup," said MBC Founder, Garrett Marrero.
