This morning we have a new can coming from Maui Brewing in Kihei, Maui, HI. This is Lilikoi Saison and it is a tart saison ale brewed with passionfruit and Amarillo hops. This Limited Release beer will hit 5.5%-AbV and it will be packaged in 12oz Ball cans that will carry the Independent Craft Seal from the Brewers Association. This can will be released 7/16/2018.

Kihei, Hawaii (July 12, 2018) - Although it has been accessible in restaurants and bars on draft, Maui Brewing Company will release Lilikoi Saison for the first time in cans for to-go purchase. The offering will be available for a limited time beginning Monday, July 16th. The tart Saison with passionfruit is brewed with Pilsner, Wheat, Flaked Oats, and Golden Naked Oats malt and local lilikoi. Lilikoi Saison, with its 5.5% ABV and 15 IBUs, will be attainable in 6-pack cans and draft in most markets where Maui Brewing Company craft beer can be found.
Maui Brewing Company's QA/QC Manager, Greg Knox describes the beer, "The Lilikoi Saison is a refreshing and tart beer thanks to the contribution of tropical flavors from ripe lilikoi and a charismatic fermentation. It pours golden with a haze that filters the bright light of a sunny day."
To celebrate this offering, launch parties will be hosted at each of MBC's restaurants in Kihei, Lahaina and Waikiki. Kicking off the event in the Kihei Tasting Room at 4pm on Monday, Derek Sebastian will perform live, local music. There will be Lilikoi Saison-inspired pupus by MBC's newest Chef Jojo Vasquez. In Lahaina, Chef James Furnish will be providing his own twist of the beer in pupus which will be available from 4-6pm on Tuesday, July 17th. MBC Waikiki will have brewery staff available for talk story, and Chef Terry Lynch preparing another version of menu items incorporating this brew. The kick-off in the Oahu restaurant which is located at the Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger will be hosted from 4-6pm on Monday, July 30th.
