Dallas, TX : Lakewood Brewing Company has been ‘brewing up’ a great lineup of 2018 releases. Customers across North Texas and other regions can look forward to these upcoming craft beers in LBC’s 6th year of brewing customer favorites.
“2018 brings some big changes with it to LBC, with some exciting new releases a few favorites being retired,” stated Wim Bens, Founder & President of Lakewood Brewing Company. “We’ve been hard at work preparing for this all year and we’re excited to finally announce our 2018 releases.”
Hop Trapp, Hopochondria, and Goatman are all being retired from the year-round offerings, while their brand new Lakewood IPAmarks its debut to the lineup. With a blend of Bravo, Citra, Mosaic, and Mandarina hops, this balanced, highly-drinkable 7% ABV American India pale ale bursts with tropical fruit notes without an overly aggressive, bitter bite. It’s the perfect everyday IPA. Look for its release on draft exclusively at the Taproom early this year, with a full package release in 6 pack cans and draft this spring.
Both Punkel and Holiday Bonus are being retired for two new, limited seasonal releases – Artsy Tartsy Berliner-style weisse w/ black currants and Cold Front IPA. Till & Toil saison and Zomerdry hopped pilsner will return this spring and summer respectively.
The Seduction Series will see three favorites retired (for now) – Raspberry Temptress, Mole Temptress, & Sin Mint Temptress. Fans need to be watching for the early release of French Quarter Temptress in mid-January, just in time for Mardi Gras celebrations. Coconut Temptress will return late spring/early summer, followed by two new variants in the series later this year – both of which are being kept under wraps for now.
An array of unique, special offerings are also being released throughout the year - Grim Shearer, the third and final release in the Three Fates mini-series, is a unique rye wine aged in rye whiskey barrels and will arrive in late January. Red Wine Till & Toil returns this spring, as well as Lion’s Share VI (a blended, barrel-aged strong ale arriving this summer) and Bourbon Barrel Temptress (this winter.) Look for a couple of collaborations with Jack Daniels to debut this summer, including Tennessee Temptress and Jack’d Up Lemonale, both of which will be draft only.
“Rest assured, many of these ‘retirees’ will still be featured from time-to-time in our Taproom at the brewery,” Bens emphasized. “It’s always hard to say farewell to a beer, especially one you’ve enjoyed for so long. But a little change is always good. Innovation is crucial in this industry. We keep listening to our fans and our brewers keep creating delicious new beers,” Bens added. “I’m very excited to share these with our fans locally and across the state.”
