From Anheuser-Busch’s The High End:
American craft beer is booming! There are now over 6,000 craft breweries in the U.S., with over 700 opening in the past year alone. To put that into perspective, there were only about 2,000 craft breweries in the U.S. just five years ago. As an organization that has 11 craft partners and employs over 18,000 beer enthusiasts, this is a dream come true. Craft has become a force to reckon with nationwide and we can all be proud of that.
In this opportunity comes responsibility, one we take seriously. To continue to take American craft brewing to the next level there need to be investments in measurable actions that aim to lift up the whole industry—How can we make this movement stronger, safer and more sustainable for generations to come?
Our answer is Elevate: a new program to raise the bar in craft brewing.
Driven by the energy and insights of our craft partners, we identified the four commitments that our consumers, partners and amazing employees care about most: Beer, Environment, Communities, and Industry. Each pillar is equally important and has goals that show our skin in the game while hopefully inspiring others to join us on our journey to a stronger, healthier category.
The goals are ambitious—we wanted to stretch ourselves—but we’re confident we can achieve them. A third party, KPMG, will measure our progress to keep us on track and accountable, and you can follow our results on the Elevate website. Whether you join us on the journey, adopt these practices, or just cheers to the future, we can’t wait to keep elevating the industry with and for you!
