CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – (November 8, 2017) Starr Hill Brewery is thrilled to announce the release of their Box of Chocolates Stout Pack, a new variety pack featuring Peppermint, Chipotle, and Mocha variants of Double Bass Double Chocolate Stout. Following in the footsteps of the popular Four Kings IPA Pack, this special release will be available in limited quantities of 12-pack bottles, as well as on draft, on November 15.
First released in January 2017 as part of the All Access Series, Double Bass Double Chocolate Stout is a rich, imperial stout at 7.8% ABV with massive additions of cocoa bringing forward aromas of dark chocolate, mocha and vanilla. The three variants are infused with all-natural ingredients including organic peppermint leaves, smoke-dried jalapeño peppers, and locally roasted whole coffee beans.
“After the great response we received from our Four Kings IPAs, we thought our Double Bass Double Chocolate Stout would be a great complementary base beer to take this idea in a new direction,” said Starr Hill Brewmaster, Robbie O’Cain. “Box of Chocolates is arriving just in time for the holiday season and will be a perfect pairing for festive desserts and winter gatherings.”
The Starr Hill Brewery Tap Room in Crozet, Virginia will tap Box of Chocolates Stout Pack on Wednesday, November 15. The official release event will feature the first chance for customers to purchase the new variety pack, a custom sampling flight with the four versions, and unique beer-chocolate candy pairings courtesy of local confectionery, C-ville Candy Company.
Box of Chocolates will also feature as part of the Dark Side of the Starr dark beer tap takeover events throughout November and December. Each event will showcase draft selections from Starr Hill’s diverse portfolio of seasonal stouts, porters, brown ales and bocks with themed pairings from desserts to live music to even a Star Wars movie night. Select events will also see the return of Dark Starr Stout, the most award-winning Dry-Irish Stout in the country.
