From BrewDog:
Our amazing (and growing) crew of BrewDog staff in Ohio are working on some truly epic projects at the moment, so it’s high time we checked in with our American adventurers. As our team of brewers get more and more craft beer to the people of Columbus, it’s only right that we add more places for our local supporters to enjoy it! So let’s take a rundown of our upcoming plans for BrewDog USA.
And we kick things off the only way we know – by blowing shit up.
It was back in March that we revealed plans for the world’s first craft beer hotel and sour beer facility, codenamed DogHouse Columbus. A fortnight ago we officially broke ground on the hotel in the only way we know – by using dynamite. Over 400 people came out for the ceremony and celebrated with us as we formally started construction (if can be formal whilst using explosives).
We can’t wait for the DogHouse to open up – there are a few hotels near breweries, but none inside a brewery. Stay there and every morning you'll wake up with a view of the foudres and will be able to smell the magic happen as well as see it. The rooms will also have Punk IPA on tap, a minibar curated by James and Martin, an epic restaurant majoring in craft beer and food pairings and much more. Look for the DogHouse to be open by late August 2018.
BrewDog construction crews are also hard at work on two separate locations in downtown Columbus itself. First up, 1175 N. High St. is the site for our first bar in the Discovery City – BrewDog Short North. We love this part of our new adopted hometown and can’t wait to add our stamp on it. Featuring a kick-ass external patio, look out for BrewDog Short North to be open in March 2018.
Following on afterwards – we’re expecting to have beer flowing sometime in April 2018 – is our second bar for Columbus, BrewDog Franklinton. Work has now begun on our awesome building at 463 W. Town St, a short hop over the Scioto River and a hundred yards from the taproom of our friends at Land Grant Brewing. Our Franklinton bar will have a truly epic rooftop beer garden and will be a home from home for our many fans who live in this awesome part of Columbus.
Our brewhouse in Canal Winchester isn’t missing out in the excitement – we now have the 10 Barrel pilot kit installed and just this week took delivery of our second favourite Scottish export (behind beer) – dozens of Speyside whisky casks. So look out for some truly epic small-batch and barrel-aged brews in Columbus very soon. Just in time for our hotel and two bars to be open, in fact!
Check back soon on the progress of these projects and more, as we head into 2018; a banner year for BrewDog in Columbus.
