From Sibling Rivalry Brewing in Westlake, OH:
Less than two years after opening its doors to the public, Sibling Revelry Brewing has announced that it is expanding. The brewery currently occupies 10,000 square feet of the building on Clemens Road; however, it will be taking over an additional 10,000 square feet in January 2018.
Plans for the expansion include a barrel-aged program, additional production and cooler space, and a larger taproom footprint. Head Brewmaster Pete Velez says, “A barrel-aging program has been on my wish list since day one. We are so excited about it. Barrel-aging will bring even more depth to our beer lineup.”
The brewery had large plans for 2017, including production of new offerings after installing two 90-barrel fermentation tanks in January. The larger tank system, coupled with an increasing demand for Sibling Revelry in the Northeast Ohio market, has warranted the expansion. “We are proud to say we are a self-distributing brewery, and this development will give us more space to produce, can and store our beers,” says David Sorace, Director of Operations at Sibling Revelry.
“I would like to thank our loyal taproom guests, vendors and retailers whom have supported and contributed to our growth in the Cleveland area. We look forward to creating more unique products and experiences for our taproom guests and consumers,” says co-owner, Sean Kennedy. “We like to keep our fans informed about all of the projects we have in the works to improve the overall Sibling Revelry experience. The patio addition this summer was the first step towards growing our taproom, and we look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2018.”
Plans for taproom expansion include increased floor space and additional seating options. Currently, Sibling Revelry’s taproom gives visitors an open view into the brew house. Forthcoming plans will seek to keep the transparency of beer production in place.
Sibling Revelry currently offers 16 beers on tap in the taproom, with approximately three-fourths available for distribution. The remaining beers are taproom exclusive releases created on the brewery’s pilot system. The brewery cans 3 flagship brews: Swing State, IPA and Red Ale. Sibling Revelry has also produced four seasonal releases as well two limited bomber releases. The brewery released a new winter seasonal, Pecan Brown Ale, on October 30th.
