EUGENE, Ore.—Oct. 5, 2017—Ninkasi Brewing Company teams up with Southern Oregon wholesale partner, Summit Beverage of Oregon, to launch Funds for Firefighters, a month-long give-back program in support of Jackson County Fire District #5 and its Firehouse Five Foundation. For every Ninkasi keg sold in Ashland, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls, Medford, and surrounding areas in the month of October, twenty dollars will be donated to support the Firehouse Five Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
“As a part of the Southern Oregon community and with friends who work locally as firefighters, I feel moved by this program,” says Justin Styla, Southern Oregon and Northern California market manager for Ninkasi. “I look forward to doing my part to provide the Rogue Valley with delicious beer and raise awareness for a good cause.”
Founded in 2001 by Barbara Decker and Pat Halpin, Firehouse Five Foundation funds essential programs throughout Southern Oregon communities. Programming includes providing assistance and crisis support to local fire victims, and scholarships to local firefighters and community members.
“We are proud to team up with Ninkasi Brewing to help raise funds for Fire District #5 and its Firehouse Five Foundation,” explains Mike Sears, president of Summit Beverage. “Summit Beverage is glad to have the opportunity to help those who risk their lives to help protect the people of our community.”
“We are excited for the opportunity to work with Ninkasi Brewing and raise money for the foundation,” says David Morris, Firehouse Five Foundation president. “These funds change lives, providing critical supplies to those in our community in need.”
To take part in the program, beer drinkers are encouraged to order Ninkasi on-tap during the month of October throughout Southern Oregon. Locations that serve Ninkasi can be found by visiting: http://www.ninkasibrewing.com/delicious/beer-finder.html.
