Another new small batch beer release coming from Catawba Brewing in Morganton, NC:
Catawba Brewing releases a Small Batch Cantaloupe Farmhouse Ale (6.6 percent ABV) on Thursday, October 19. This Belgian-style golden ale was conditioned on 60 pounds of locally-grown cantaloupes. Mixed culture fermentation
complements the ripe fruit flavor with deliciously complex notes of spice and subtle farmhouse funk. This is Passport Beer #42 in Catawba’s 2017 Small Batch rewards program. Brewed in their Asheville South Slope brewhouse, the beer is available at all Catawba locations, and in limited distribution.
On Friday, October 20, Catawba taps a Small Batch German Hefeweizen (4.9 percent ABV), available exclusively at Catawba’s four tasting rooms. This traditional Bavarian-style ale was brewed with over 50 percent malted wheat. Hazy gold in color, it has aromas of banana and clove, with a soft, well-rounded mouthfeel.
