Interesting collaboration news from 2SP Brewing in Aston, PA:
Can Release!
Next Friday at 5pm we're releasing 16oz cans of our collaboration with our friends/designers at Post Typography (www.posttypography.com). We are trying to make Pilsners gangsta again, bung bung! As a brewer, doing your thing on a Pilsner or Lager you're sticking your neck out there. If you mess up, you know it, I know it. When it's nailed, that quality makes you thirstier for the next one. To try and make Pilsners great again, we made a super clean, but hoppy Pils with Calypso and Saphir hops (think citrus, red berries, and pear aromas). Super official.
Post helped create the recipe and also did the art work for it. The font they used is called Kurrentschrift which was popular in Germany before that real jerk Adolf came to power and banned it as "degenerative art." Like Pilsners, and our sales guys hair, the lettering never really made a comeback.
Design nerds and art fans in general, get to the brewery on 9/29 to meet the guys from Post Typography! The boys will have a lot of their other work on display and for sale at the brewery (the kids do the design work for Future Islands, Beach House, and The New York Times).
