St. Petersburg, Florida: Flying Boat Brewing Co., St. Petersburg’s newest craft brewery, is hosting its grand opening celebration Saturday, Aug. 19, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Friends of Strays.

St. Petersburg, FL, August 18, 2017 Flying Boat is closing out its Pier Beer and Grand Opening week by celebrating all day and keeping it local with live music, food trucks, fun games, amazing craft beer and more. The day also features a free microchipping clinic in the afternoon in partnership with Friends of Strays and the Pet Loss Center and a mayoral proclamation for the organization from St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman.

“We believe in the power of great community and great beer,” said Joshua Perian, managing partner. “That’s why a portion of the proceeds of every beer sold here benefits the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, and that’s why we’re donating $1 for every IPA sold from 2 to 6 p.m. to the Friends of Strays organization in our special ‘IPAs for Strays’ event during grand opening.”

Local bands the Rockin’ Raccoons and Luna Blue, along with Florida DJ Dan Carraway, will be performing, and Urban Brew & BBQ, Rocky’s Wood-Fired Pizza, Holy Cow Kettle Corn and the St. Pete Taco Lady will be serving up local eats. The party goes on from noon to midnight and is a free admission event open to the public.
