From Surly:
On New Year’s Eve 2005, Omar helped Todd brew the very first batch of Surly beer. Soon after, they sold their very first keg. Then they sold another, and another and…well, you know the story. Now, ten years later it’s time to look back, look forward and celebrate the decade-long ride.
We want to celebrate the people who have been a part of the Surly journey, helping climb mountains and tackle challenges that we couldn’t have imagined back in 2006 – from changing a law, to building a new brewery, to selling our beer all across the Midwest and Great Plains.
And most importantly, we want to celebrate with Surly Nation. That’s you – you’ve all supported us for ten years by enjoying our beer and supporting our brewery. Cheers!
TEN Beer
To celebrate, we’re releasing our tenth anniversary beer, TEN. Brewed with pale crystal malts, invert sugar and aged on toasted sassafras, it’s an Old Ale meant for sharing. Amber in color with aged flavors of toffee, sherry and vanilla sassafras finishing with a warming full-bodied swallow. TEN will hit shelves at the end of the month.
TEN Events
You don’t turn TEN every day, so we’re gonna go all out. TEN beers at TEN parties in TEN locations for TEN days across Minnesota, Iowa, Chicago and Wisconsin. Every party will have a bunch of rare Surly on tap, including TEN, our anniversary Old Ale. So come out and raise a glass to the next TEN years of gettin’ Surly…
