From Anheuser-Busch:
Merrimack, N.H. (June 15, 2016) – New England beer lovers looking for a new place to enjoy a cold one with a scenic view can make their way to new The Biergarten at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and Tour Center in Merrimack, which opens Tuesday, June 28. The Tour Center, which has welcomed visitors since 1971 to learn more about brewing America’s favorite beers, has added the new Biergarten for visitors to enjoy an exceptional beer experience. Guests can sample light fare paired with a variety of Anheuser-Busch beers in the indoor and outdoor space.
“Anheuser-Busch is proud to provide another opportunity for friends & families to come together in the idyllic setting of the Merrimack Brewery,” said Tom Jokerst, general manager, Anheuser-Busch Merrimack Brewery. “The Biergarten offers guests an authentic beer experience that complements the brewery tour and shares the heritage, craft and pride that goes into each Anheuser-Busch beer we brew here in Merrimack.”
The new space is 3,500 square feet and can accommodate nearly 175 visitors. The Biergarten’s décor pays homage to Anheuser-Busch’s heritage with a few traditional elements such as the Budweiser creed in copper behind the bar, a large “Cheers” mural, and a timeline featuring brewery milestones, including the introduction of Budweiser in 1876, the Clydesdales introduction in 1933 and the Merrimack Brewery groundbreaking in 1968.
The Biergarten’s light menu will include offerings such as pretzels, sausages and cheese boards paired with the 14 beers on draught, including Budweiser in the Budweiser Signature draught tower. Guests are also welcome to participate in a Brewmaster’s Tasting every day at 3 p.m. – the same time Anheuser-Busch brewmasters from around the country taste beer each day to make sure it is of the highest quality and consistency. The Biergarten will also host new events such as Bud Light Thursdays, where guests can enjoy a cold Bud Light while listening to local entertainment. The Biergarten will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. There is no charge for admission.
“The Merrimack Brewery has been a part of the community for 46 years, and the new Biergarten allows us the opportunity to continue to be a part of our community in a new way by hosting fun events that give guests a traditional German biergarten experience in a relaxed setting,” said Jokerst.
Biergartens are a common part of beer culture and places where friends and families gather to enjoy each other’s company over drinks and food. These traditional outdoor settings originated in Southern Germany in the 19th century, but spread in popularity around the world as beer grew to be a global beverage of choice. Anheuser-Busch has recently added Biergartens at its St. Louis and Fort Collins, Colo. Tour Centers.
