Innovative Sustainability the Subject of Alaskan Brewing Seminar at Craft Brewers Conference

From Alaskan Brewing:

(Philadelphia, PA - May 3, 2016) Alaskan Brewing is presenting with Bayern Brewing Inc. on Thursday, May 5, to explore innovative solutions to sustainable brewing in the craft beer business. Alaskan Co-founder Geoff Larson will speak specifically about Beer Powered Beer, the patent-pending process that converts the waste product of spent grain into fuel that powers the brew house.

Larson estimates Alaskan will save up to 60 percent on its fuel costs per year as a result of taking advantage of this otherwise wasted resource. First installed in 2013, Larson says the system is now ready to be scaled to other breweries and he is eager to allow others to take advantage of this breakthrough in using spent grain as a renewable resource.

Thorsten Geuer, Brewmaster at Bayern Brewing, will be discussing innovative approaches to sustainable uses of bottles, and the presentations will be moderated by Katie Wallace, Assistant Director of Sustainability at New Belgium Brewing.

The seminar will take place at 2:40, Thursday, May 5, in room 113 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. For interview requests or more information, please contact Andy Kline at Alaskan Brewing Co.
