From Dry Dock:
AURORA, CO— Dry Dock Brewing Company was honored with a gold award for Amber Ale and a silver award for Pilsner last week at the 2016 World Beer Cup℠, a prestigious global beer competition regarded as the “Olympics of Beer.”
“We are very proud to come away with hardware in European-Style beer categories because we know we are competing against breweries that have been brewing those beers very well for decades,” says North Dock Head Brewer Alan Simons. “It’s an honor for our team to return Dry Dock Amber Ale to gold status this year.”
Dry Dock’s Amber Ale, formerly known as H.M.S. Victory ESB, was awarded gold at the 2006 World Beer Cup℠ less than a year after the brewery opened.
“We are so excited to snag a second major award for German-Style Pilsener in the past year,” says South Dock Head Brewer Tim Evon. In 2015, this beer won a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival®. “Sharing a stage with so many amazing Pilsner brewers that I infinitely admire is such an incredible feeling and is a great testament to the hard work of our whole team.”
World Beer Cup winners were selected in 96 beer-style categories by an international panel of 253 beer judges from 31 countries. This year’s competition saw a field of 6,596 entries from 1,907 breweries in 55 countries. Presented by the Brewers Association, the World Beer Cup℠ has been held every other year since 1996. Dry Dock has been the recipient of seven World Beer Cup℠ awards since it opened in 2005.
