FAIRFAX, Va., May 12, 2016  On Sunday, May 15th, Caboose Brewing Company will take over Mosaic's Strawberry Park from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. to celebrate its first anniversary. The Vienna-based brewery and restaurant renowned for its variety of craft beers and sustainable, locally-sourced fare will mark the milestone with a party in the park.

Caboose will be pouring several of its best brews including Wasser Pils, Citra Wheat and Commonwealth Rye. Mosaic favorites Iron Chef House, Brine, DGS Delicatessen, Red Apron and the new Nando's Peri-Peri will be on hand with a selection of savory offerings. Corn hole and games for the kids will add to the festivities.

Caboose Brewing Company and Mosaic also reveal plans to open the brewery's second location at the shopping neighborhood. To be located on the southwest corner of Lee Highway and Eskridge Road, Caboose will repurpose a 6,000 square-foot storage facility into a brewery.

"Both my fellow owner Tim McLaughlin and I have been long-term Fairfax residents, and are excited about growing our business in in Northern Virginia," Caboose co-owner Matt Greer said.

Caboose and EDENS, the retail real estate development company behind Mosaic, look to create an exciting new destination within Mosaic. Pending approval from Fairfax County, the brewery may offer public tastings and a beer garden. Plans also including building pedestrian crosswalks to facilitate an easy connection to the rest of Mosaic. Construction is set to begin in the fall with an opening planned for early 2017.

"We are excited to work with Caboose to create a community gathering space that will benefit and complement the existing Mosaic neighborhood," said Reed Kracke, Vice President of Development for EDENS.
