From Flying Dog:
BALTIMORE, MD – Lace up those trainers. Or, at the very least, dig them out of the back of the closet.
Flying Dog Brewery will hold the third annual "Sprint for Spat" 0.10K on Sunday, May 1. This grueling test of mental stamina and physical endurance will be held in Baltimore's Fells Point Square with proceeds benefiting the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and the Oyster Recovery Partnership.
“There’s no other race where you’ll leave without breaking a sweat,” Flying Dog CMO Ben Savage, said. “While the concept may be a joke, the charities and local businesses it supports are anything but. We’re incredibly proud to be entering the third year for Sprint for Spat.”
On race day, runners will compete on a 100-meter course, with a hydration station serving complimentary oyster shooters at the halfway point. At the finish line, runners will refuel with Flying Dog beer, George's Mixes and Finlandia Vodka cocktails, local Chesapeake oysters, and Baltimore food truck fare – all set to the musical mixings of DJ Landis Expandis.
"Bringing people together to support the young adult cancer fight is the heart of UCF's mission and there's no better way to bring people together than a worthy cause, delicious beer, fresh local oysters and a formidable 0.10K in Fells Point Square." Brock Yetso, President and CEO of the Ulman Cancer Fund, said.
Advanced registration, which guarantees a preferred t-shirt size, closes on Sunday, April 17 at midnight with online registration closing on Friday, April 29. The race will likely sell out, so day-of registration is not guaranteed. All participants will receive a race T-shirt and a commemorative 0.10K bumper sticker. Both the race and post-race party are 21+. Full details can be found at SprintForSpat.com.
