The Lost Highway Black Lager is officially becoming the Midnight Special Black Lager. Because some wine importer in New Jersey claimed the name Lost Highway, a name we'd been using since 2010, an homage to Alabama's favorite son Hank Williams, reflected in the name of the highway flowing through the center of the state. But New Jersey importers got it. They don't even make beer. But feds say wine is too similar to beer. So we dug further back and this time reached for another piece of Southern tradition suggestive of a powerful late night ride, a Southern folk song so potent bands have been covering it for generations. "Let the midnight special shine it's ever loving light on me..."
