We brought you a look at this beer in Dec, and now the release details from Traveler Beer:
The Traveler Beer Company is breaking down barriers and will blow the minds of IPA and Shandy lovers across the country with the invention of the first EVER heavily hopped Shandy – Traveler IPA Shandy.
Traveler IPA Shandy takes a walk on the wild side, marrying the refreshment of THE American craft Shandy with the bold hop flavors and aromas of an American IPA. Adventurous drinkers will be hopping in the streets once they taste this refreshing game changer, made with real grapefruit and a whopping *seven* different citrusy hops.
“We’re known for being a bit unorthodox here at Traveler,” said Alan Newman, founder of The Traveler Beer Company. “With IPA Shandy, we’re expanding the possibilities of what this beer category can be, and we think this will become a refreshing favorite for both hop-heads and Shandy fans alike. Why should we continue to follow the status quo when we can continue to push boundaries and revolutionize the way people think about beer?”
The Traveler Beer Company has drawn inspiration from the European Shandy, which is traditionally lager mixed with lemonade or lemon-lime soda. Traveler has given this style of beer a new life on this side of the pond, brewing Shandys inspired by American drinkers’ passion for high quality, craft beers. Traveler’s Shandys are brewed with real ingredients such as grapefruit, pumpkin, strawberry, pineapple, lemon, lime and pomegranate. Flavorful, bold and refreshing, these are Shandys for beer lovers.
IPA Shandy will be available in 6-packs year-round, starting this month, along side other Traveler Beer offerings. Traveler Grapefruit Shandy, the company’s flagship variety, made with real grapefruit, is available year-round in bottles, as well as on tap at bars and restaurants. The Traveler Beer Company also makes a variety of seasonal Shandys that hit the market when fans crave those flavors the most.
