The CAN'd Aid Foundation continues its efforts in Flint, Michigan next week with the donation of 50,000 additional cans of potable water, as well as a fundraising event for organizations in need of support.
WHEN/
WHERE:
Monday, January 25 (8 AM) - 50,000 cans filled atOskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, North Carolina.
Tuesday, January 26 and Wednesday, January 27(timing TBD between 9 AM and 12 PM) - cans shipped and distributed locally in Flint, Michigan
Thursday, January 28 (12-6 PM) - Flint's Got Grit. fundraising event at Torch Bar & Grill (522 Buckham Alley) in Flint - includes free beer can chicken made by head chef of Oskar Blues' Fooderies, free water and rootbeer, and an Oskar Blues tap takeover with ten rare brews.
Canned water will be distributed and $1/pint from all Oskar Blues Brewery beers sales will support ongoing healthcare needs for children in Flint.
(5:00PM) - CAN'd Aid check presentation to support on the ground initiatives will be presented to Flint Child Health & Development Fund.
WHY:
CAN'd Aid Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit formed by Dale Katechis, soul founder of Oskar Blues Brewery, in 2013 following the Colorado flooding that devastated the hometown of Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons, Colorado. To date, over $1.9 million has been raised to support its "do-goodery" efforts:
- Towns - building strong communities
- Tunes - for your eyeholes and earholes
- Treads + Trails - get outside and get after it!
- Love Yur Mama - save the blue marble
