We brought you a peek at this beer back in Nov, so it was even more fun to get a chance to sample it fresh frm Coronado Brewing. And with the nasty cold weather hitting the Nortrheast, this beer seemed the perfect match for a cold January night.
A big thank you to Coronado Brewing for sending me a sample of their Imperial Blue Bridge Coffee Stout. This beer is part of their limited release Crown Series and it is the first release for the Crown Series in 2016. This Imperial Coffee Stout is the perfect winter seasonal and it is brewed with Cafe Moto Guatemalan coffee and roasted barley.
The beer pours a rich and very pretty deep brown color with a ton of roastiness and coffee in the nose. I found lots of dark and sweet chocolatey flavors that were well balanced by the cold brewed coffee aromas and flavors. As the beer warmed, the complexity and earthiness became prominent and some of the hop character rose to the top. All in all a really nice imperial stout and a really drinkable winter seasonal.
Imperial Blue Bridge Coffee Stout comes in at 8%-AbV and 45 IBU and it is available now in 22oz bottles in eleven states (including Pennsylvania). Try this beer for yourself, and as always, be sure to let me know what YOU think.
