Bear Republic - Cafe Racer 15 Races Back in January As Winter Release

imageFrom Bear Republic:

Sonoma County, CA—Café Racer 15™ is back already? For those Bear Republic fans out there who routinely buy our products (thanks!), you might be asking yourself these questions when you see Café Racer™ again on the shelves of your favorite local bottle shop. We’ve just decided to mix things up a bit. Here’s why:

Originally brewed in celebration of our fifteenth anniversary back in early 2011, Café Racer 15™ quickly became one of our favorite beers to brew. Probably because, well, it’s also one of our favorite beers to drink! Café Racer™ quickly found a home in our quarterly Double IPA release schedule, but something wasn’t quite right. A Double IPA that checks in at 9.75%, released in July? It got us thinking. Maybe we should be brewing this massive beer in the beginning of the year, when the days are short and the weather is cool. That time of year when you need a beer high in ABV to help not only warm your spirits, but being the hop head you are, also quell your lupulin addiction.

It’s a no brainer, right? So, hereby, we are making it official. Café Racer 15™ will now become our Winter release and the ever-evolving Apex™ will shift to our summer release in July. A perfect fit, since it’s lower in alcohol and has a leaner malt profile. It’s a better fit for the season. We consider that a win-win and hope you do too!

About the Beer:
An elusive and highly-anticipated release, fan favorite Café Racer 15™ is one of Bear Republic’s most sought after beers with vastly limited distribution.

Café Racer 15™ won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival®, up against 128 other entries in the Imperial India Pale Ale Category and was a winner at the 2014 Good Food Awards.

Description: Café Racer 15™ features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

Aged Cheddar & Sheep’s Milk Cheeses
