Worker Suing Atlas Hard Cider Over Bottle Explosion

A worker who says a bottle of Atlas Hard Cider exploded and sent pieces of glass flying into his legs filed a $10,000 lawsuit this week against the Bend beverage maker. 

Peter Leinweber claims that Atlas Hard Cider Co. was aware that it had a problem with the bottles before he was injured on Sept. 7, 2014.

Excessive pressure would build up and the bottles would suddenly burst, but the company didn't "recall the dangerous batch(es) of hard cider products for fear of losing face in the marketplace," the lawsuit claims.
