Victory Announces Their Official Beer / Halloween Candy Pairings

imageFrom Victory:

With Halloween right around the corner, it’s time to plan ahead. And we’re not talking about costumes or party ideas or anything like that. We’re talking about the stuff that matters – candy and beer and creating the perfect adults-only pairing. Our esteemed panel of judges (read: anyone who was in yelling distance and hungry/thirsty on Friday afternoon in our offices) chose their favorites before falling into a candy coma. So read up, steal some of your kiddos’ candy (don’t worry…they have PLENTY) and get to taste testing!

DirtWolf + Sour Patch Kids

First they’re sour. Then they’re sweet. Then they’re Dangerously Satisfying when paired with DirtWolf DIPA. Sour Patch Kids (or SPKs, as we call them around here) enhance the citrus hop notes of DirtWolf…it’s that simple. Our advice? SPKs are probably a bit too sour for your little ones, so definitely steal these first. You won’t regret this pairing!

Helios + Smarties

This funky, sour pairing will satisfy any sweet tooth. The bite of the saison cuts the sweetness of the Smarties to create a beautiful balance. The candy accentuates the fruity flavors of the Helios and finishes dry and refreshing. #SmartPairing

Festbier + Milky Way

The malty, caramel notes of Festbier enhance the caramel flavors of the Milky Way, while the candy ultimately cuts the malty notes of the beer. A vicious, sweet cycle. Caramel, Caramel, Caramel. Need we say more?

HopDevil IPA + Snickers

Hold on to your butts. This was our team’s favorite pairing. Described as a delicious harmony, the Snickers enhance the caramel notes of our HopDevil IPA while reducing the bitterness of the beer. Together, you can taste all of the nutty, caramel sweetness in this duo. Beware…it’s Menacingly Delicious.

Vital IPA + Lemonheads

If you haven’t tried our latest release, grab it now! And don’t forget the Lemonheads. Trust us on this one. The citrus hop flavors in Vital IPA increase the lemony candy flavor for ultimate flavor intensity. Another candy your kids might not appreciate, but you could “suffer” through for this pairing.

Storm King Stout + Reeses

Close your eyes. Imagine a boozy, chocolate peanut butter cup. Open your eyes and behold Storm King Stout paired with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. The chocolate in the candy intensifies the chocolate notes in Storm King Stout, creating the perfect, creamy pairing. Perhaps enhanced coffee-like flavors in the beer? Maybe. You be the judge.

V12 + Twix

A Belgian quad paired with caramel, cookie and chocolate? Yea we did it. The caramel flavors of the Twix pull out the caramel tones of V12. Twix may just be the perfect companion to V12.

Prima Pils + Starbursts

The juicy fruit flavors of Starburst and the crispness of Prima are the fruit cocktail of heaven. FINE, WE SAID IT! Pop a Starburst in your mouth (any OG flavor will do), take a swig of Prima and unleash this juicy pairing.

Moonglow Weizenbock + Cow Tails

Cow Tails. They’re good, right? Well, pair one (or two, or three) with a Moonglow Weizenbock and let’s get wild. The caramel flavors in both treats intensify one another while the creamy center of the Cow Tail smooths and emulsifies all of the additional flavors. Do it.

Golden Monkey + Candy Corn

We think the Monkey would hand-pick this pairing. The Candy Corn is cloyingly sweet, but the carbonation of the Golden Monkey cuts right through the sweetness of the candy. The Candy Corn also enhances the fruity notes and sweetness of Golden Monkey, creating a velvety mouthfeel while the beer reduces and smooths the sometimes chalky texture of Candy Corn. Thanks, Monkey! #RespectThisPairing
