From Otter Creek:
The Otter Creek Brewery is growing!
On Monday, October 5th, we will break ground on a brand new brew house in Middlebury, Vermont.
Twenty-five years in the making, the addition of a state-of-the-art, 120-barrel automated BrauKon brew house from Germany will expand the capacity and capabilities of Otter Creek.
The 8000 sq. ft. expansion will make Otter Creek the largest brewery, by volume, in Vermont.
“This new brew house will allow us to really dial-in our efficiency and creativity,” said brewmaster Mike Gerhart.
“This project will give us the flexibility to let our freak flags fly in 2016 and beyond.”
Otter Creek will commemorate the ceremonial groundbreaking at 793 Exchange Street in Middlebury on Monday, October 5th at 11am.
A short ceremony will be followed by lunch, samples of the brewers’ latest creations and an interactive walk-through of their current facility alongside the architects and project mangers.
“[This addition] has been a long time coming,” said Jed Nelson, marketing director at Otter Creek Brewing, “It’s an exciting time for us – for craft beer in general – and this brew house will be a huge asset as we continue to grow.”
In addition to the new brewery space, the Otter Creek pub and restaurant will undergo a complete renovation. More than a fresh coat of paint, we’re completely remodeling our digs, and we will be closed for the entire month of November.
We hope you’ll come check us out in December!
