Upslope Blood Orange Saison Coming 8/26

imageWe brought you a peek at this beer already, and now the full details from Upslope:

Upslope Brewing Company is proud to announce the canning and distribution of their Blood Orange Saison, the sixth release in the brewery’s seasonal limited release series. The longtime tap room favorite will be available throughout Colorado, Texas, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico and Montana in 12-ounce cans beginning Aug. 26, 2015.

The distinctive citrus notes of the Mandarina Bavaria hops used to brew this 6% abv saison complement the blood oranges, while the spice from the pink peppercorns interplays with the beer’s natural sweetness. This unique blend of flavors results in a complex yet smooth taste that is perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring mountain trails with family, friends or a loyal dog.

“The original concept for the beer was born out of a collaboration with our friends Drew and Leah Watson, owners of Hops & Pie in Denver. Over the past year we brewed a number of experimental saisons, but found ourselves looking back at this tap room favorite for inspiration,” said Upslope’s Head Brewer Sam Scruby. “I’m excited to showcase this hop variety paired with such an intricate and interesting yeast strain. The pink peppercorns and blood oranges amplify the spicy and dry saison character, giving us a wonderful bouquet of flavors.”

To celebrate the release Upslope will host a Sneak Preview Party with Blood Orange Saison cans before they hit store shelves at Hops & Pie in Denver beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015.
