Short’s Bludgeon Yer Eye Returns For 2015

From Short’s:

To announce the release of our latest specialty bottle, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to the first time Tony Hansen (now Short’s Head Brewer) met Joe Short. According to Short’s legend, Joe, possibly the world’s biggest and most enthusiastic Ween fan, (no really, check out this blog post about Dean Ween’s TWO appearances at the Pub), was dressed in one of his signature Ween T-Shirts. This particular piece of Ween clothing featured the song “The Blarney Stone.” Upon seeing Joe, Tony recalls thinking “this guy is the owner?”

This first meeting left quite a lasting impression on Tony. Fortunately for all of us, the rest is history! Years later, Tony chose to commemorate this historic first encounter with a recipe. And it turns out that history can help shape a pretty fantastic brew. Bludgeon Yer Eye (named for a lyric in the Ween song “The Blarney Stone”) first released in 2010, is now back on store shelves in six packs!

Bludgeon Yer Eye (6.2% ABV – 75 IBU) is an India Black Ale. Intense fruity and floral aromas, along with a subtle malty fragrance, emits from the beer. The deep black color complements the rich, dark roasted malt flavors. The unexpected twist comes when the high hop bitterness takes over and leaves a bitter finish.

Available in six packs statewide, in bottles at the Pub, and on tap, this beer is certain to go fast. Pick up piece of Shorts’ history, today!
