From Deschutes:
April 9, 2015 – Bend, Oregon – Deschutes Brewery is inviting the local community to check out its all-new Street Pub, setting up shop in the parking lot at its Bend, Oregon headquarters on Saturday, May 9. This ultimate block party will be the first appearance of the locally crafted 402-foot custom bar made from 4,296 feet of reclaimed white oak and 10,000 pounds of steel before it starts a journey around the United States.
More than just a gigantic party, Street Pub is actually “Crafted for Community” – designed to bring friends and fans together in seven communities around the country. The aim is to not only share delicious hand-crafted beers in a custom-crafted pub reminiscent of the original pub in downtown Bend, but to support community causes. In each city it visits, including Bend, Deschutes will partner with a local nonprofit to raise money and awareness. In Bend, partners from the Central Oregon Beer Angels and Boys and Girls Club of Central Oregon will be volunteering at the taps, with proceeds benefiting local children’s programs through the Boys and Girls Club.
The Bend Street Pub will feature 40 taps of Deschutes Brewery’s beers you know and love (think everything from The Abyss to Mirror Pond Pale Ale), plus food from The Pizza Cart, Parrilla Grill, and the locals’ favorite pub fare from Deschutes Brewery corporate executive chef, Jeff Usinowicz. Live music by Portland, Oregon’s “junkbox blues” group Hillstomp and Central Oregon’s new twang rock bandWoeBeGone will keep attendees moving.
