Featured Specialty Beer:

Groke

Appalachian Groke

OG: 17 | ABV: 8 | IBUs: 18

This reddish golden ale is a unique mixture of beer and a small percentage of the Petit Verdot 'pomace' of a Bordeaux style wine. In other words -- 'Pomace' is the crushed remains of grapes left over after the juice is extracted in the winemaking process, and we used it in the beer! As a result, the beer takes on some of the sweetness and color of the grapes. Hints of blackberry and molasses give this beer a crisp and unforgettable wine-like finish. To 'Groke" is to stare at someone while they imbibe, in the hopes that they'll share!

Available where fine beverages are sold

We're proud to offer a brand new selection of flagship ABC beers in 12oz bottles! Look for the following new beers in 6-packs and cases in the carry out section of your local ABC brewpub where fine beverages are sold:

Aero-Head Bock, Outta Focus Double IPA, Chocolate Avenue Stout and Trail Blaze Maple Brown Ale! Plus - enjoy a six-pack of each available in the new Craft Collection variety case.

Ask for Appalachian Brewing Company products by name!

A nearly year-long project came to fruition recently when we began bottling our Appalachian Craft Soda at our new facility in Mechanicsburg!

For fans of our soda varieties, such as Original and Diet Root Beer, White Birch Beer and Ginger Beer - don't worry... our change in location won't mean any difference in taste. What you will begin to notice is some newly-designed packaging, including a shiny new label.

Appalachian Craft Soda is available at our brewpubs, as well as hundreds of shoppes and grocery stores across the region, including Weis Markets, Wegmans, Walmart, Karns and Giant Food Stores.

Dear Friends,

From the very beginning, Appalachian Brewing Company has always been about the beer. When we opened the doors to our original brewery and brewpub in Harrisburg in 1997, we made a commitment to brewing fine handcrafted ales and lagers using only the highest quality ingredients we could find. We've never wavered from that, and with the recent introduction of our innovative new Craft Collection line of flagship brews, I don't think anyone will ever question ABC's commitment to the art of brewing.

In that spirit - we're proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Inaugural Harrisburg Beer Week, (HBW) happening April 24-May 2. Organized by an energetic group of women who love craft beer, this fast-approaching week will feature tons of fun events across the greater Harrisburg area. A list of events ABC is participating in can be found further down in this brewsletter, and include: PA Flavor, Lager 101 and The Little Big Beer Festival!

Even beyond HBW, the entire month of April is shaping up tp be exciting, as our traveling schedule of beer festivals begins to pick up. This month alone, we're participating in events in places like Bloomsburg, Gettysburg, Sacramento, PA and beyond! Wherever you go, look for ABC and be sure to say hi.

Finally, while I began this update by talking about beer - I'm also very pleased to report that our new Appalachian Craft Sodabottling line is up and running at our new facility in Mechanicsburg. This project has been painstaking and long-awaited, so it is very rewarding to finally see bottles of Root Beer and other varieties of soda rolling off the production line. A very special 'thank you' to those who've helped make it happen.

Until next time,
Cheers!
