Baltimore-area breweries recently collaborated to produce a special beer for Baltimore Beer Week (October 10 – 19, 2014).
On Friday, Sept. 12, brewers from Heavy Seas Beer, DuClaw Brewing Company, Union Craft Brewing, Red Brick Station, The Brewer’s Art, and Oliver Breweries came together at Union to brew a German-style “fest-bier” using locally-grown American hops.
Heavy Seas’ Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard, who organized the collaboration, believes the exchange of ideas and techniques fosters camaraderie, cultivates local awareness, and can ultimately help improve everyone’s products.
A portion of the proceeds from the collaboration beer, to be named Stoop Sitter, will benefit the Jake’s Law charity. This non-profit is working towards making the penalties more severe for vehicular accidents caused by texting while driving. Visit ChangeForJake.org for more information about Jake’s Law.
Stay tuned for more details on when and where Stoop Sitter will be released during Baltimore Beer Week this October!
