From B. Nektar Meadery:

Because we felt that releasing a new batch of The Zombies Take Manhattan wasn't enough for you, we are unveiling our newest rum barrel aged mini-series at the upcoming 2014 Summer Mead Fest. The Pirates of the Meadery series, featuring One-Eyed Ian, and The Dread Pirate Paul. (you either get it, or someone will have to explain it to you)

Dread Pirate Paul

ABV: 16%

Sweet / Still Mead

The Dread Pirate Paul is a special limited run of date mead aged in rum barrels with spices. Only 2 barrels were made, so we don't anticipate this making it far from the meadery, if it leaves at all. If you're a fan of the movie, The Princess Bride you may get the label. Otherwise, I suggest you log in to Netflix or whatever movie subscription site you have and watch it now. I'll wait...

Label Description: Mead. Mead is what bwings us togevah today. It is inconceivable that this mead was made given the hardships the Dread Pirate Paul had to endure; the date pits of despair, the MOUS's (meadmakers of unusual size), and scaling the rum barrels charred in the depths of the fire swamps, stacked as high as the cliffs of insanity. All for true love. Chilled or cellar temp, drink it as you wish.

One-Eyed Ian

ABV: 16%

Sweet / Still Mead

Only 2 barrels made of this new take on an old B. Nektar classic. It's doubtful that this one will make it out of the meadery. Yes, that really is a picture of Ian. Kerri is super awesome at Photoshop.

Label Description: While fleeing from the armada to protect his treasured pineapple mead, One-Eyed Ian booty-trapped the mead with toasted coconut and hid it in a rum barrel. It is rumored that he killed all his men to keep them from getting his treasure. But the map to the rum barrel got out adn the story was told. It was a rocky road, but we managed to overcome his booty traps. Behold the gem that saved the meadery from foreclosure... Not really, but it makes a good story. B. Nektar never says die!

The Zombies Take Manhattan

They're back! The return of The Zombies Take Manhattan

Lightly sparkling honey, apple, and cherry mead aged in rye whiskey barrels

ABV: 12%

Label Description: We thought we had them under control. The antidote was working. But life, or even death, finds a way. After a year of successful treatments, their bodies stopped responding and grew to nearly twice their normal size. Now they've overrun the city. I fear it's too late for mankind. They're coming...    B. Afraid

Peach - Kill all the Golfers in BOTTLES

Release Date: August 2nd (meadery only release)

We didn't even need a reason. But in all reality, the reason was because you all asked for it. This mead is a hole in one. Our Peach Kill all the Golfers came about because we just can't leave a good thing well enough alone. The crew used a special peach tea instead of our normal black tea and lemon in a batch of Kill all the Golfers and this is what we got. We had some on tap at the 2014 Spring Mead Fest, and it was an instant hit. We had so many requests to bottle it that we just gave it in and did it.

ABV: 6%

Semi-Sweet / Lightly Carbonated Mead
