I’m always excited to see a surprise packaging coming from Angry Orchard, and with the hot weather we’ve been experiencing, I couldn’t wait to chill and sample. What’s even more exciting is that this was a sample of a new hard cider coming from Angry Orchard called Elderflower Hard Cider.
This 2nd summer seasonal cider release from Angry Orchard pours a beautiful golden brown and the aroma is fruity with lots of apples in the nose. The mouthfeel is sparkling and effervescent, but it has considerably more body than that description would lead you to believe.
Based on the European tradition of Elderflower cordials, the taste of this hard cider is a real combination of floral and fruity flavors that really balance well on your palate. For me pear and apple flavors were prominent, but there’s certainly a finishing flavor that is citrusy and floral.
Angry Orchard Elderflower Hard Cider is a really nice addition to the Angry Orchard cider line-up and you should definitely try this one for yourself and let me know what you think. Elderflower is available nationwide in 6-packs and 12-packs so be sure to try it before it’s gone for the summer.
