From Alaskan Brewing:
Dallas, Texas– Alaskan Brewing Co. has announced that they are giving away $15,000 in Alaskan gold nuggets. Three specially- coded golden tickets have been hidden in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Each ticket is worth $5,000 dollars in Alaskan gold.
The promotion is inspired, like many of Alaskan Brewing’s beer recipes, by the Gold Rush history of Alaska and will launch on Friday June 6th.
Select bars and taverns across the state will be releasing weekly clues to aid would-be urban prospectors who can visit to get in on the rush – and previous weeks’ clue recaps will be announced at alaskanbeer.com.
Founded in 1986, the Alaskan Brewing Co. was inspired by the Gold Rush. While researching brewing in Alaska, Co-founder Marcy Larson unearthed shipping records from Douglas City Brewing Co. (1899-1907) that listed ingredients for its popular beers and a newspaper article that described the way it was brewed. Co-founder Geoff Larson homebrewed a batch of the Gold Rush-era brew and they could see what made it so popular. That beer is now known as Alaskan Amber, the brewery’s flagship product.
The Alaskan Brewing Co. Gold Rush golden tickets have been hidden across the state of Texas on public access property, in safe locations for treasure hunters to search. Alaskan and its partners are asking that urban prospectors please not damage private property and be respectful while hunting the treasure. Every Friday, Alaskan will be announcing clues to the location of the gold. Clues will be posted in select bars and taverns around town a week before they are announced on the radio, so a gold rush to local participating pubs or taverns may yield the motherlode!
