From Union Craft Brewing:

Baltimore, MD,  Union Craft Brewing Company today announced the completion of its second expansion since opening in June of 2012. This expansion includes the installation of three new fermentation tanks and the addition of a 3,000 square feet unit adjacent to the current brewery space.

Union Craft Brewing is also excited to announce the release of the third addition to its canned beer lineup. Blackwing Lager, a German-style Schwarzbier, is a light-bodied yet dark and full-flavored lager. This third variety of canned beer joins the already popular Duckpin Pale Ale and award-winning Balt Altbier. Blackwing cans are now available at all better beer retailers across the state of Maryland and Washington, DC.

“Blackwing is one of my favorite beers we make” said Co-founder, Jon Zerivitz. “It is so flavorful and yet so light-bodied. It pairs really well with food – especially Chesapeake oysters.”

Head Brewer and Co-founder Kevin Blodger adds, “Some people are intimidated by dark beers, but Blackwing is so approachable. It will defy your expectations of what dark beers can be.”

“This expansion will allow us to increase our capacity by 65%,” said Co-founder Adam Benesch. “The additional capacity will enable us to meet the overwhelming demand for our existing beers, as well as give us the ability to experiment with new beer styles.”
