One Portland bar got creative and found a way to ensure that its regulars could enjoy Pliny the Younger without having to leave work early and/or wait in a huge line: The bar, The BeerMongers on 12th and SE Division, reportedly billed the prized Pliny on the board as “Miller High Life.” It was listed for $7 for 12 ounces, which tipped off people who looked closely and noticed the oddly steep price for the Champagne of Beers. But even if you cracked the code, there was another rule: “no yelping, tweeting, selfieing, facebooking, instagramming, posting and/ or whatever else it is you kids do these days.”
