From New Belgium:
It's snowing outside, and has been for close to 24 hours. I would say we're coming towards knee-high on a jellyfish with four to six fluffy and cold inches on the ground. Grey clouds and bitter winds lead me to think reprieve is still beyond the horizon. And but so, with all weather (and beer) related silliness aside, let's talk Spring Blonde.
Boom! Spring Blonde is a beautiful beer, capable of crossing seasonal boundaries with the skill and grace of a well trained ninja-cat. I'm not sure if we expected an early release, or a cold spring... Either way, we brewed for the occasion. This is a Belgian inspired wonder, carrying a malt-heavy profile, and a yeast punching above its weight with nice, fruity esters and bold phenolic complexity. The surprising 6.0% ABV leaves a warm, but dry finish.
And come warmer weather, Spring Blonde will roll perfectly into the season's first grill-outs and sunny, t-shirt days. The body is reasonably light, and the booziness is not so strong as to over-warm the drinker. Spring is all about blossoming, and rebirth (or whatever). This beer navigates frozen ground to first crocus like a Savanna stalking jaguar. So please, drink up my friends, the days are getting longer.
Find yours here, and I will see you in a few days.
