From Drakes:
Good news guys. Our latecomer to the Jolly party, J. Rodgerator Doppelbock finally saw fit to grace us with its presence after a long, leisurely lagering. It will be available at Drake's Barrel House and at a few lucky tap houses throughout the state. It'll be on tap here by the weekend.
For those of you who missed it the first time around, J. Rogerator is a bold, malt driven doppelbock- a style originating from the Paulaner monks of Munich seeking a beer big enough to stand in as “liquid bread” during their Lenten fast, and now serving you in CA as a warming, strong, malt accented lager to get you through the holidays. We thank you to note our own take on the traditional “-ator” suffix in the name. Eat your heart out, Optimator.
For those of you who keep up on Drake's, you know about our Reunion Barleywine- the Samuel Adams Utopias® barrel-aged barleywine made two years ago by a group of six Drake's brewers, past & then-present. We're happy to say that after a small preview at GABF, Reunion's time to shine is this Saturday at Drake's Barrel House.

This smooth, complex brew features flavors of toffee, slight roast, fig, oak, and the distinctive flavor of sherry and Buffalo Trace Bourbon from the Utopias® barrels. Each sip reveals a new facet worthy of exploring, and you can have the added joy of delving into the beer with the same scrunched-face concentration that Jim Koch himself displayed in Denver.
The small print:
Doors open noon to 9pm as usual, and Fiveten Burger will be there to feed you. Reunion Barleywine will come in 22oz bombers, and there will be a limit of 2 per person, and they'll be $14.99 + tax & CRV. First come, first served, and as this is Drake's first major barrel-aged bottle release, we expect the bottles to go fast, as will the very small amount we will have on tap. Here's the Facebook event page, if that's how you roll.
