From River North Brewing:
This year’s vintage of Barrel-Aged Avarice will debut Saturday, December 7th at 1pm!
For 2013, the River North brewers blended Avarice aged in a number of different whiskey barrels, some of which have held the Belgian-style Imperial Stout for 14 months. The result is a decadent and opaque brew which melds the robust dryness of the base beer with smooth, sweet notes of whiskey and oak.
“I’ve sometimes wondered how long this beer would age in the bottle,” said Founder and Head Brewer Matt Hess. “Several years would be a safe bet, but I honestly would not be surprised if it tasted even better in a decade.”
In total, the brewery will release 105 cases of individually numbered bombers. The lowest numbered bottles will be sold in the taproom, with the beer on tap for the release party as well. More cases will land on store shelves around Colorado the following week.
