Lots of great winter beers coming from Hangar 24 just in time for the holiday:
Winter is beginning to take hold here in Redlands and as the weather cools down, we find ourselves turning more often to beers that capture the flavors of the season. Pugachev's Cobra,Warmer and Hullabaloo are our version of a mug of hot chocolate on a cold night.
In the coming weeks we've got the release of this year's Warmer on the near horizon, followed closely by a huge day on December 7th: the release of our 2013 Pugachev's Cobra, the introduction of a brand-new Barrel Roll offering named Pugachev Royale, and our second annual barrel-aged beer festival. Read on for the full details!
Pugachev's Cobra arrives on December 7th
Pugachev's Cobra Returns, Pugachev Royale Debuts
Pugachev's Cobra is an Imperial Russian Stout brewed with three dark roasted malts and rich maple syrup, then aged in bourbon barrels for eight months. This year's batch clocks in at 14.8% ABV. We'll have it on draught and in 750ml bottles in our Tasting Room with a limit of 6 bottles per person. A limited amount will make its way to craft-centric bars and stores in California and Nevada.
This year we're doubling up and introducing a second, brand-new entry into the Barrel-Roll series. We took a select few barrels of last year's batch of Pugachev's Cobra and added cacao nibs and vanilla bean during its 8 months in bourbon barrels, then moved it to brandy barrels for an additional 10 months of aging. We're calling this decadent beer Pugachev Royale, and it will only be available in 11.2oz bottles in our Tasting Room. This is a very small batch beer, we're only expecting about 400 bottles and will be limiting it to one per customer. Come early on December 7th if you want to secure your bottle because we expect them to go quickly.
Pugachev's Barrel-Aged Beer Festival No. 2
Our brewers have put together an incredible lineup for this year's Pugachev's Barrel-Aged Beer Festival- we're going to be pouring 24 different beers from throughout the years of our barrel-aging program. You'll be able to buy a tasting wristband for $25. This will get you a commemorative tasting glass and 8 pours from among the beers offered, letting you build your own tasting flight. We will also be giving our Frequent Flyers of bronze or higher status the chance to begin tasting at 10am.
Whether or not you purchase the optional tasting wristband, there will be plenty of other festivities for everyone to enjoy including live music and food vendors, so you can always just drop by for a pint or growler fill (maybe even in one of our brand new stainless steel growlers!).
Full info on the event (including the beerlist) can be found at www.h24pugafest.com.
Winter is a great time of year for beer lovers and we think you're going to like what we've got coming your way. There's nothing quite like that first, bourbon-y sip of a glass of Pugachev's to beat back the cold.
