Brooklyn-based Union Beer Distributors, one of the nation’s leading craft-beer wholesalers, now distributes Ciderboys Cider Co.’s First Press, Magic Apple and Mad Bark handcrafted hard ciders in New York City and Long Island. The gluten-free carbonated hard ciders are available in six-packs of 12-oz bottles at retail stores, and in select bars, taverns and restaurants on draft or in bottles across Union Beer’s market.
First Press is a traditional hard cider available while Magic Apple and Mad Bark are “fruitful pairings” featuring mouth-watering complementary flavors: Magic Apple blends crisp apple cider with the taste of fresh strawberries while Mad Bark, a winter seasonal, is alive with the aromatic spiciness of natural cinnamon. First Press and Magic Apple are available year-round while Mad Bark is a winter seasonal.
“Ciderboys and the Big Apple represent a great example of a fruitful pairing,” said Joe Martino, Ciderboys Cider Co.’s Managing Partner. “Thanks to Union Beer Distributors, the Big Apple’s hard-cider fans now enjoy our idea of perfect fruitful pairings, Magic Apple and Mad Bark, as well as our First press traditional hard cider, a beverage popular in New York since colonial times.”
Launched just one year ago in Stevens Point, Wis., Ciderboys hard ciders have been growing in popularity and expanding into new markets ever since. Ciderboys products are now available in select markets in 18 states. New Yorkers have greeted Ciderboys enthusiastically, according to Martino. The experience of new Ciderboys retailer Karl Hansen, owner of Westhampton Fine Wine in Westhampton Beach on Long Island, is typical of the success First Press, Magic Apple and Mad Bark have enjoyed.
“Ciderboys has been jumping off the shelves since the first week we had the product in stock,” Hansen reported. “We’ve seen significant repeat business, too, which is no surprise because Ciderboys products offer great taste. My customers love them.”
