Ashland, Virginia, Center of the Universe Brewing Company is gearing up for a celebration of epic proportions. For three days starting Friday, November 15th and ending Sunday, November 17th, COTU will be throwing a party to celebrate their one-year anniversary.
On Friday, the celebration starts at 4:00pm with the highly anticipated release of The Richard Imperial IPA. The Richard is the angry uncle of Pocahoptas. This beer was originally released at the Grand Opening. It was a result of being COTU’s first brew on the system. A little off here, short some water there, and they were left with a double IPA very similar to Pocahoptas, but much stronger. Along with the release of The Richard, COTU will be tapping a slew of “Barrel Aged wonders”. These beers are barrel-aged versions of a selection of COTU beers. There will also be live music from Something Shiny.
On Saturday, the celebration kicks off at 3:00pm with a Homefront IPA brewery tap invasion. Left Hand, Cigar City, 21st Amendment, and Stone will be providing 2 kegs of limited release beers (announcements to be made week prior to the party). There will also be live music from The Hippy House Band and Chuck County. Food will also be available.
On Sunday, the party continues with live music from The Royal We. All guest taps will be made available for growler fills if they are still remaining. Enjoy the Redskins as they take on the Eagles on our 22' television in the back.

Center of the Universe Brewing Company opened its doors in Ashland, VA on November 16th 2012. Brothers Phil and Chris Ray, who started as homebrewers turned their hobby into an obsession that is now a successful brewery in Virginia.
