From Uinta Brewing:
Beer lovers of the Lone Star State will soon enjoy “Uinta Brewing beers as they partner with Texas Distributor, Ben E. Keith Beverages this fall. Uinta will begin with a soft launch of their Crooked Line in bottles and plan for a hard launch with additional beers from their Classic, Organic, and Seasonal brew lines in January 2014.
“Uinta has had Texas on our radar for quite some time; we have a large number of Uinta fans in Texas that have been very diligent in requesting our presence,” says Uinta Brewing’s marketing director, Lindsay Berk. “With the installation of our new 4-vessel, 130 bbl BrauKon brewhouse, scheduled to be complete in late 2013, Uinta is finally able to accommodate adding Texas to their distribution.”
Founded in 1993, Uinta has been brewing award-winning beers for 20 years. Uinta Brewing is named after an east-west mountain range located in northeastern Utah. They have been brewing with 100% Renewable Wind Power since 2001 and installed solar-electric paneling on the roof of the brewery in 2011.
Uinta was the 2nd fastest growing Craft Brewery in 2013 with 67% growth in sales for 2012, landing them on the Top 50 US Craft Brewing Companies list released by the Brewers Association. “We’re fortunate to be a part of the growth of such a unique and environmentally conscious brand. We’re looking forward to bringing the Crooked Line to Texas in the fall and more products from Uinta in early 2014,” says Ben E. Keith Specialty Manager, Kevin Nettleton.
Uinta will first enter Texas with their Crooked Line, which was launched in 2010. These beers were dubbed “big beers” both in taste, alcohol content and size of bottle. Crooked Line beers are packaged in 750 ml bottles, are cork finished and range from 9 to 13% alcohol by volume. The intention is that these beers are shared, as one would a bottle of wine, with friends and paired with food. Some beers are aged in oak, whiskey or bourbon barrels for up to six months prior to reaching the market. The Crooked Line consists of Cockeyed Cooper Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine Ale, Tilted Smile Imperial Pilsner, Detour Double India Pale Ale, Labyrinth Black Ale, and Oak Jacked Imperial Pumpkin. These beers will be available in the areas serviced by the following Ben E. Keith Beverage branches: Abilene, Austin, Commerce, Dallas, Denton, Ft. Worth, Houston, Llano, Palestine and Waco.
Uinta Brewing Co. and Ben E. Keith Co. will be posting news and announcements about launch events and activities at Facebook.com/Uinta-brewing and Uintabrewing.com as well as Facebook.com/benekeith and www.BenEKeith.com/beverage as they get closer to beer’s release in the market.
