Ft. Collins, Colo. – October 17, 2013/mbb/ Clips Beer and Film Tour, New Belgium’s philanthropic beer and film tour, raised $158,243 this year after traveling to 21 cities (see local breakdowns below) while setting a new attendance record.

A record-breaking 22,070 people attended the various tour stops this year. Since its inception in 2010, Clips has raised $366,893 for nonprofit organizations. Knoxville raised the most money this year, bringing in nearly $17,000.

Each Clips Beer and Film Tour stop featured New Belgium’s esoteric Lips of Faith beer offerings (and brewery classics) alongside amateur films created by inspired filmmakers from across the country. Volunteers served up delicious brews with 100 percent of the proceeds from beer sales benefitting local nonprofits. Attendees also enjoyed food from local vendors in addition to a diverse offering of traveling games and contests.

Focusing on New Belgium’s commitment to sustainability, these events also encouraged people to think twice about recycling, with an impressive 85 percent of waste diverted from landfills. Alternative transportation was encouraged at each event and an average of 23 percent of attendees rode their bicycles to the show.

“We are consistently enamored with the view of a full park, an inflatable screen and glowing stars while we all toast beers and celebrate local nonprofits,” said Christie Catania, the Clips Beer and Film Tour National Events Manager. “The hard work of our beneficiaries and sustainability partners pay off in every city as we raise money and divert waste from landfills. Thanks also to every community that welcomes us – we are appreciative of your generosity and hospitality!”

All chosen film entries for the 2013 tour received a custom gift from New Belgium and screenings in all 21 cities. Filmmakers who would like to be considered for next year’s show can submit entries starting in January 2014 at
