MINNEAPOLIS, MN, AUGUST 5, 2013/mbb/ -- A bustling production facility, a growing distribution base, an award-winning taproom, a roster of 22 employees; Indeed Brewing Company approaches their one year anniversary Aug. 10, with a lot to celebrate.
In the course of one year in business, the brewery has grown exponentially and is on track to brew 6,000 barrels of beer by the end of 2013. “The success of the brewery is beyond what we could have imagined,” said co-founder Tom Whisenand. “If I had time, I would pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming, but we're too busy making beer!”
After opening their doors in August of last year, the brewery quickly established itself as a fixture in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District neighborhood with a popular taproom that draws a diverse and enthusiastic customer base. “We love being a part of this neighborhood,” said co-owner Rachel Anderson. “It’s really rewarding to be able to open our doors to our neighbors and friends and have them enjoy what we’ve worked hard to create.”
The ever-changing beer line-up at Indeed led by head brewer Josh Bischoff, boasts 15 different unique styles to date, ranging from their two flagships beers Day Tripper Pale Ale and Midnight Ryder American Black Ale, to more adventurous brews like their L.S.D. Honey Ale .
And while the past year had been a whirlwind of activity and growth for the company, they see no slow-down in 2014. “We feel like we are really just scratching the surface of the state’s demand for quality local craft beer,” says co-founder Nathan Berndt. “It’s an exciting time to be part of the Minnesota craft beer scene, and as long as the demand is there, we want to meet it.”
Indeed beer is available on draft in its’ taproom and in over 300 bars, restaurant and liquor store locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area. The company plans to release their fourth canned beer, Sweet Yamma Jamma Sweet Potato Ale in September.
To mark the anniversary, the brewery will tap 6 special firkins Saturday August 10. Customers can buy a $5 firkin punch card good for six 4-oz. firkin pours. In addition the brewery will debut two more beers from their Derailed Series, Mexican Honey and Polka Pils.
