Harpoon Kettle Cup Employee Homebrew Competition Underway

image
From Harpoon:

It’s that time of year again! Harpoon employees have picked teams and formulated plans for the annual homebrew competition, the vaunted Kettle Cup. Recipes have been scoured over, rare ingredients purchased. We’re ready for the brew!

We take pride in crafting beers we enjoy drinking and what better way to explore new recipes than with an employee homebrew competition? Over the last few weeks, small teams of employees have been working with a brewer to perfect a recipe and brew what they ALL believe to be the winner. The daily trash-talk has reached a fever pitch. Somewhere Kevin Garnett is smiling.

Once again, the stakes are high and competition fierce. The winning team and their beer will be featured as part of the 100 Barrel Series in 2014. We all want our sketched profile on the label and our beer in refrigerators across the country! To do so, we must get past more than 20 other teams.

Employee judging occurs in a series of rounds. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be tasting and voting to select a handful of beers to move on to the finals. A winner will be crowned at the annual company outing on September 16th at our Windsor, VT brewery. For now, we can all dream.

Stay tuned for the results. After all, one of these creations will be coming to a cooler near you in 2014!
